What the Critics say!

ComicStack.com By Abdulkareem Baba Aminu

CID & CY,, By Anissa Dorsey &S.D Lara , is such a whimsically written and drawn tale that the evident danger is almost always forgotten, lurking behind title character Cid and everywhere else on this gothic treat. By the time you're at the last page, you'll immediately be longing for a 200-pager featuring Cid,, Cyn, Carcass and the rest.

CRASHGIRL, By Anissa Dorsey & S.D. Lara The team which gave us Volume One's delightfully dark Cid & Cyn are back in Volume Two with this, a PMS-drenched confection which is thankfully lengthy (14 pages Ð Yay). Lara's ultra-cynical-looking drawings give life to DorseyÕs well-rounded characters, making this truly a collaboration. "Shades of Blue" this ain't, but only 'cos its better, baby.

SilverBulletComicBooks.com By Ray Tate

Anissa Dorsey and S.D. Lara open the book with "Cyd & Cyn." It's an amusing and charming fantasy-based story in which a human falls into a fairyland setting. Cyn is a witch, and like the pre-Crisis Zatanna, witches are not human but a separate species. In fact, Cyd is the only human the denizens of the realm have ever seen. They always considered them mythic, which is a nice touch. S.D. Lara's artwork has a gothic flavor to it, but he/she adds touches such as the seal like eyes of the witches as well as the often smiling Al that soften the typical black and black imagery.

What You have said!

Hi! my name is Stephanie. I just wanted to tell you that I love your comics and all the characters..especially CrashGirl. I decided to send this to ask when and if you will be putting out a comic book and where can I get it??? I am a comic book fiend. Especially ones that I can relate to like your crash girl. Please let me know.

Thank you, Stephanie

I just found your page through a friend, and I must say I am very impressed with your work! Have you ever considered (or have) put out any of your own comics? If you have, is there any way people could order them... and if you haven't... why not??? Your CrashGirl comic is awesome... I can't wait to see more!

~Kim

I dig your site. I was popping around the socalsvriders.com site and checking out who was there. I like Cyn :-)

I came across your website just now through the usual browsing search engine results looking for something else. You are a remarkably talented artist. I love your work! Just thought I'd remind you, as if you need reminding!

Kind regards, Mike

It will also bee featured on KomikWerks.com in the beginning of March when they launch there new and improved site!

Interviews!

There is a new interview with us posted at Komikwerks.com. It covers stuff like the work we have been doing in Vol 1&2, how we came up with CrashGirl and our thoughts on the industry (as if any one cares about what we think). There is also a interview about CrashGirl featured at The SmallPress.com that was posted last February. It was with Anissa Dorsey and myself. Strange to think someone wanted to interview us, but hey if it gets us some more exposure, I'm all for it.

New Donation Button!

We are just a starving artist and writer who are not above begging. There is a lot of work that goes into building and maintaining this site. If you have been enjoying our comix, I hope you will find the time and the funds to show your appreciation and send us a small donation. It could be just a buck, we don't care...we just want to eat some time this week.

MadGirlComix.com on a New Server!!!

Due to a blast of hits I got last week, I was forced to move MadGirlComix.com to a new server, so to accommodate all the traffic. My old server was threatening to shut the site down because of all the hits. The change was done over this last weekend, so I apologize for any disruptions you might have experienced in the past two days. Thanks again for your support!

SD Comic Con 2003 come and gone...
Well the Con has come and gone and I must say it was quite a mad house. Saturday was packed! The guys at Komikwerks seemed pleased with the amount of sales they made on Vol. 1 & 2 and are planning on doing more books in the future.

I signed lots of books and did a few sketches for people. All in all it was a good time. If you didn't make it and you want to get one of the books we were selling they will soon be for sale on the Komikwerks site. I will let you know as soon as they are available.
